THE DOUBLEDECK®, A BOARD LIKE NO OTHER - PRECISE, RESPONSIVE, JOINT-FRIENDLY

Brand new technologies make the DOUBLEDECK® snowboard an innovation sensation with the potential to revolutionise snowboarding.

This is further endorsed by the ISPO Award, which the DOUBLEDECK® has been honoured with since 2022. Curious about what sets it apart, and why both beginners and advanced riders alike love the DOUBLEDECK®? Here are the answers.

WHAT MAKES THE DOUBLEDECK® SNOWBOARD SO ATTRACTIVE FOR ADVANCED AND (EX)PRO RIDERS

At its core, the standout feature is the bow and the revolutionary CONVEX PRESSURE BOW SYSTEM® (CPS). By continuously pressing down on the bow after changing edges, pressure is built up. This pressure gives way to a release, which amplifies the additional pop of the bow and allows the board to detach from the snow even faster.

The additional pop is thus generated through this clean release, initiating the weightless moment more swiftly than with a regular snowboard. In essence, the stored energy in the compressed bow is unleashed, akin to a coiled spring or a tensioned bow. Consequently, traditional edge catching is significantly minimized, leading to noticeable enhancements in both edge changes and take-offs. These brilliant advantages cater to riders of all levels, from beginners to professionals!

THE WORLD'S FIRST PRESSURE SHIFT OF UP TO 20 CM TOWARDS THE NOSE AND TAIL

Unlike conventional setups where the bow is rigidly fixed to the board, our design allows it to slide on the surface, allowing it to be compressed. This simultaneously shifts the pressure towards the nose and tail by 10 to 20 cm over the toe or heel edge. The result is an improved yet softer edge grip. When relieving the pressure, the edge grip is released more rapidly and cleanly, enhancing overall performance.

The bow is mounted on the board with four sliding screws at the back and fixed screws at the front. It needs to slide to allow for a certain amount of deflection, pushing the concave bow convexly in the opposite direction. This design allows for minimal and imperceptible sliding of the bow back and forth on the board with each turn. When the rider transitions from one turn to another, the bow is relieved and smoothly glides back into position.

The SUPERSLIDE RAILSYSTEM® (SRS) is born: Smooth and continuously increasing pressure transfer through flattening and sliding back of the bow.

BETTER EDGE GRIP DESPITE HIGH TORSION

Following the exceptional grip achieved through the interplay of CPS® and SRS®, the DOUBLEDECK® intentionally introduces increased torsion along its longitudinal axis. While heightened torsion typically leads to a more forgiving riding experience, it often comes at the expense of reduced edge grip. Not so with the DOUBLEDECK®!

This is attributed to the functionality of the INVERSE CONCAVE BENDING SYSTEM® (ICS). The convex hollowed-out wooden core allows for a robust torsion of the board, inducing a twisting effect of up to 45 degrees. A cross-section of the board would reveal a hollowed-out core in the lower area, thinner in the middle and thicker towards the sides. Consequently, it twists along its longitudinal axis, facilitating easier turn initiation and smoother riding.

DOUBLEDECK® - THE EXTREME INTERPLAY OF TECHNICAL INNOVATIONS

The combination of the CONVEX PRESSURE BOW SYSTEM® (CPS), SUPERSLIDE RAILSYSTEM® (SRS), and INVERSE CONCAVE BENDING SYSTEM® (ICS) enables this evolution of snowboarding.

All three inventions are not only interconnected but also support each other, leading to a subjectively smoother riding experience.

The board exhibits torsional flex, and with the added capability to absorb uneven terrain, coupled with the bow's suspension, allows for new riding sensations.

While numerous boards feature torsional flexibility, the DOUBLEDECK® uniquely integrates torsion with SRS®, leading to a substantial pressure shift. This distinctive combination allows the board to twist while maintaining exceptional edge hold.

THE IDEAL APPLICATION OF THE DOUBLEDECK®

Primarily designed as an all-mountain board, DOUBLEDECK® excels in diverse terrains and heavily traversed slopes.

It adeptly absorbs and virtually engulfs unevenness in the terrain, mitigating jolts and fostering a snowboarding style that is particularly gentle on the joints.

This unique design allows riders to concentrate more effectively on upcoming turns, ollies, or freestyle manoeuvers while maintaining their balance. The reduced strain on the rider's body results in diminished exertion on muscles and joints. When carving at high speeds on ungroomed slopes, the DOUBLEDECK® stands out for its smooth ride, precision, and relaxed feel.

Moreover, DOUBLEDECK® is considerate of joints, catering to both younger and older riders, be it ankles, knees, hips, or the spine. It functions as a support system for the body's "shock absorbers," particularly beneficial for individuals with joint concerns.

The coherence of the three patented technologies is evident, providing advantages not only to seasoned riders but also to novices: a significant reduction in traditional edge catching translates to enhanced edge changes and take-offs.

However, a universal truth prevails: experience is the best teacher!
